I Found The PERFECT PRUNING SHEARS! Japanese Pruners At An UNREAL Price!
After much searching, I found the perfect pruning shears! These Japanese made bypass pruning shears are top quality at an unreal price: 70% less expensive than the popular benchmark Felco F2’s! Despite the low price, these pruners offer unbelievable quality on a budget.
The pruners are linked in my Amazon Storefront* under “Garden Accessories”: https://www.amazon.com/shop/themillennialgardener
Or use the direct link* here: https://amzn.to/35AqILw
I’ve wanted to replace my cheap bypass pruners for awhile, but there is a problem: the market is flooded with cheap pruners of low quality that I did not want. Another solution is to buy high quality Felco pruning shears, but they are very expensive. There are few options for high quality bypass pruners at a reasonable price.
These Japanese made pruning shears are the solution! The quality is top notch at a shockingly low price. These shears are less expensive than some of the questionable knock-off brands out there, yet after handling and using these shears for several pruning jobs, I’m blown away. They may be the best value out there for budget-minded gardeners!

You should have said it’s for males only. Women have small (rarely medium-size) hands, and they need tools for small hands. Like Felco 14 or 15. But you don’t care for women.
Keep mentioning the "great price" without talking about the brand or its price. He wants you to buy from his Amazon affiliate links. Nothing wrong with this, but not everyone buys from Amazon US stores. I bought mine from Amazon JP and Amazon SG stores, and the price is only about ~20% lesser than a Felco that I wanted
Ended up getting an ARS VS-8Z for now…eventually I’ll pony up for a Felco 6
better than felco’s?
مرحبا استاذ المقصات اليابانية بشكل عام افضل من السويسري
Fake Japanese shears. Whether they are good or bad I can’t tell, they are probably passable. But look for "Samurai" pruners/secateurs if you want real Japanese products at affordable price
Business address of company selling shears “Foshan
Guangdong
528000
CN”
They might be good, but I would suspect they are made in China.
These are not Japanese! I am a native speaker and reader of Japanese and I can tell you that the writing on their package is in horrible Japanese grammar. The writing was clearly in Chinese and someone used Google translate or something to make crappy Japanese.
The stamp is a lie. Look on Amazon and until 2020 there used to be a sticker on the package that said "Made in China" while the package itself falsely claimed "Made in Japan". These are fake. I bought these and returned them to Amazon and reported it as a fraud.
They may be better quality than most stuff made in China, but these are not as good as real Japanese pruners or shears.
ARS no doubt better than Felco. Cheaper and better.
Thanks, I even found them on Spanish amazon. Needed a new pair. 😀
It’s so frustrating. A number of folks on Amazon reviews say these are Chinese and that the text is not proper Japanese. And ALL shears seem to have a percentage of unacceptable reviews. Every pair I’ve ever bought was rubbish. I just want a pair that will last an entire season, at any price.
I ordered these pruners from your amazon store. Can’t wait to get them. You put out great content!
❤
I’ve been using these pruners intensively for two years. I liked them lot even if the red and black plastic covers broke away. It was not a serious issue as the pruners are still very confortable without them. Finally, i’ve damaged the blade with a wire or a nail, and I wasn’t able to find a replacement part anywhere… I’ve ordered a Felco yesterday.
Thanks for the tip on the pruners Anthony, I took your tip on the large planters you recommended on another video and I was blown away by the better quality pots for a very reasonable price + 1 extra pot was included in shipment.
How do I find the pruning shears ?
What’s the Japanese brand name?
I don’t see a link to the product… Can you send?
Found them on Amazon Australia. For $70 AUS Very good price
Ive been living and working in Japan for over 20 years doin Japanese gardening and farming. Ive NEVER seen these shears anywhere. Most Uekiya-san (Japanese Gardeners) use Okatsune or ARS brands. Have a look aroumd for some of thosebif you have never heard of them. Okatsune is the most common brand here in Japan and are available everywhere here.
Just ordered my pair… thanks for sharing
Speaking of pruners I’m looking forward to watching your Espalier figs project this year!
Just ordered a pair… thank you! When l go steel cutting tools l go either Japanese or German. Just picked up the Silky saw Katana Boy on Amazon. Cut our first Christmas tree the other day with it! I think the tree fell in 5 or 6 pulls!
That Pruning Scissor Is From China
And Outside Of Scissors They
Printed “MADE IN JAPAN”. 🤣
I Bought It Same From China
For 11 Dollars.
Amén.
Awwwwwwwww
NEVER leave them outside or fail to clean or that cheap coil spring will rust. Don’t care for that large tool. Smaller is better and you’re not cutting 6ga copper wire. Precise cuts before the plant gets out of control 1:09
you compared a brand new pruner to an old dull one…
You cannot compare an old pair of dull pruners with a new sharper pair.
Question: Which is better, the Falco scissors or the Japanese scissors?
here in europe fiskars is the best one; from finland.
It seems there are a couple names making this shear, including Kynup at the same price. Both use SK5 steel. SK5 is used with some knife manufacturers, including the famous Cold Steel SRK. I bought the first generation Kynup that uses a coil spring vs a volute spring. No problems. Kynup includes a spare just in case. They are such impressive cutters that I bought the 2nd gen shears for an inlaw. The cutting jaw is smaller on the 2nd gen and incorporates a volute spring. The steel will rust with neglect, but only a minimum of care is needed to prevent it. Washing and drying after each use has prevented a single spot from appearing on mine which I’ve used heavily for 3 years. Use a diamond rod for quick resharpening. For lubrication and off season storage I use an old method used by woodworkers on bare metal machine tables – Non toxic furniture paste wax. NOT the spray stuff! Petroleum products can contaminate plants. Another plus is this tool fits snuggly into the Corona leather scabbard.
ARS is a great brand but wait till you try Niwaki. Search on Google. 200+ GBP Pruners. Like Japanese swords.
Well maybe try sharpening your old pruners before comparing them to a brand new set.
I bought 2 of these, one for myself and 1 for a friend – we both love them. My sister tried them out when we were finishing up the garden and so I shared your garden site with her.
I think it’s best to purchase them from your garden store rather than elsewhere because there is an imitation being offered by Amazon, that is made in China…looks the same, but do not be fooled.
that looks like an ARS knock off. Most likely made in China. SK5 Japanese steel.
In your opinion. Do you think the pruners will do well with bamboo?
Just got my pruners today and went out and trimmed my everbearing raspberries. Worked like a charm, nice sharp cuts (I cut on an angel as to not let moisture collect).
What else I really like about them is when comes time to sharpen the blade, it removes easily without taking the whole damn thing apart, plus a nice large and secure locking mechanism.
Thank you once again for passing this find along.
I always wipe my steel implements with linseed oil after use, they never rust. I think that oily old rag is at least 10 years old.
The Amazon reviews clearly show "Made in China" sticker on the box.
Well, you introduced me to it, so whatever you get for that link is well earned. Your link looks like a good place to shop.
Keep on mentioning the incredible price but wont say how much you paid so I have no idea if the current price of $30 for the sheers is the incredible price you had in mind. The way you went on about the price made me think it was going to be like $9.99. $30 is how much good sheers cost anyway.
I bought these pruners in the UK – honestly I’d give them a 3/5. They get the job done but I prefer quality every day of the week when I’m using these tools for hours.
They don’t cut that well and are far too large.
Furthermore, they are actually Made in China and not in Japan (says this clearly on the packaging I received). They managed to get some of their goods through the border without customs noticing that they are illegally being marked with “Made in Japan” – hence why some are correctly relabelled as “Made in Japan”.
The pruners are far too expensive for the performance and quality – don’t trust the charlatan in this video who is clearly being paid commissions via his attribution link.
Those shears are fabulous. The cut is so clean and precise and so easy on the grip that you would think it was a power tool. I cannot recommend them too highly. I really appreciate the tip.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just ordered two pairs through your link, based on your recommendation. Looking forward to trying them out!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! I like to order 1 but I couldn’t find it at your Amazon storefront. Could you please post the link here? Thanks❤
If you decide to order these pruners, I’d love to hear YOUR review after you use them. I was WOW’d out of the box for the price! Please leave an honest review and let us know how you think they perform for the price range.
Are these better than the Fiskars?
Both are the same chinese SK5 steel pruners. The difference is that you have to sharpen your old ones. I have the same like the old ones from China and they are great. It just does not last sharp forever. The new fake japanese will be the same.
Thank you so much! I cannot afford the Felco shears…and cannot find a decent pair for a decent price. I will definitely try these. Blessings from Zone 9 Texas!
Its got Chinesium in them!!!…Seller in Guangdong Chinaaaa….according to my {cultivate} software which works through Amazon…They just did a better job than they usually do and improved the fit and finish….Dont feel bad they lie to everyone and they are getting worse…,,, Did you call the company?…Amazon???….I know your intentions were good but never underestimate the skulduggerous nature of the chinesiums….
